Standing figure of a woman in a 1930’s bathing suit, swimming cap and towel, modelled on an advertising poster from the period. Created for artist, Stephen Dargavel, as a public artwork within the pool complex at Cleethorpes leisure centre.
Fibreglass was the appropriate materials for this work combining strength with an easy clean, non-corroding and sanitary surface. Installed in 2013, a site visit a decade later to check on the work showed no sign at all of any degradation or discolouration, demonstrating the quality and durability of the materials used.
Although she is a unique, one-off sculpture I would be happy create similar work for your pool or outside area. See the twin fountains I created for a pool in Florida.
