The commercial work helps to maintain balance in the roller coaster life of the working artist and also funds my more outlandish, long outcome,
socio-political projects. and my social and experimental
work in development.
My previous work as a sculptor and prop maker in the film industry has influenced my sculptural practice as I employ numerous new materials and processes that I learned on films. I also ran my own metal forge, making abstract, animal sculptures in steel and scrap metal. In 1997 I established what has become the UK’s most successful body casting studio, creating private and commercial figurative sculpture commissions in glass, fibreglass and bronze for clients, including celebrities and royals in many countries around the world. I still oversee that business, employing and mentoring many other artists over the years.
