Portrait sculpture commission of artist and model Mimi Dey.
We took moulds directly from her head to achieve the realism in her hair and plaits. To give the piece some energy we made her head cocked to one side and her plaits flying out in an asymmetric flick of her head. It was her decision to pout and have the eyes blank which creates a rather disturbing Gothic look to the piece.
She to used the moulds we produced for her to create wax heads of herself for a performance.
