Created for a Chelsea Arts Club charity auction, this piece parodies our pantomime relationship with society’s so called heroes and villains. Names are written across 54 casts of the tip of my penis, divided into black and white sides, suggesting their relative merits as humans.
Deliberately using only surnames leads to a little uncertainty and causes us to question our own prejudices. Necessarily subjective from get go, you’ll see some names appear in both camps. Using my penis as the backdrop makes the whole thing even more ridiculous. Putting people on a pedestal or casting them as a villain is basically ridiculous, with a few notable exceptions I’m sure we can agree on.
