This is another experiment outdoors, shot in total isolation on the South Downs. Laura is a natural, beautiful woman and I wanted her in a beautiful, natural setting. She was up for it. Not everyone dares to get naked outdoors. We walked for ages to find the perfect spot. As she sank naked into this bed of long grass, it seemed to absorb her into the hillside.
Wherever there was space between her body and the scanner the sunlight streamed in, blowing out the image in a random and exciting way. I’ve experimented with double exposures and overlaying a photograph taken at the same time to add complexity and depth, like she is in two places at once. She appears to be drifting off to sleep in her bed, dreaming of lying nude in the long grass.
