Anna is the Russian wife of an American collector and this was a commission for them. She is very striking and extremely beautiful with the slender and agile physique of a dancer. My scanography process creates images which seem to hover between the erotic and the morbid. Sex and death are constant themes in art and this inspired the pose as she recreates the death of her famous, literary namesake. Tolstoy’s Anna Karenina throws herself under a train at the end of the book. The image shows her both in motion and still, in ecstacy and in death.
These photos are supplied acrylic face-mounted, ready to hang on the wall, eliminating the need for framing. If however you prefer to buy just the unmounted print only, please enquire about those prices.
