Kiss Portraits

“Now a soft kiss – Aye, by that kiss, I vow an endless bliss” – John Keats

Alongside the body parts and body portraits, I’ve been experimenting with new ways to portray the female face. What I’ve liked most are these “kiss portraits”, like the subject is above you, just about kiss you, their hair falling down around you, lips parted, hot breath on your face. They’re expressing a really intimate and beautiful moment of anticipation.

Each one is highly evocative of that person and like all my portraits they are achieved through close collaboration between me and my models/clients to try to capture their essence and create something truly unique. It often takes many tries until I’m satisfied that I’ve got the shot. It’s a voyage of discovery we go on together and the results can never be exactly predicted.
