Male full body lifecast sculpture for the 2004 film, Troy. The sharp eyed will recognise that ugly bald man as me! We were casting models to use as battlefield corpses and the last model to turn up was super fit but only about 5’5″. He was way too short to be a warrior and since we needed to do it that day we looked around the room of workshop assistants and I was the only one amongst us without a beer gut. I got the job.
It was mortifying having a bunch of mates cast me naked but all good experience for the future. Knowing how it feels to be cast has been extremely useful in understanding my models’ experience and designing my processes to minimise discomfort.
