Framed wall sculpture of a female torso in plaster, concentrating on her shapely curves. The title, Contrapposto, is an Italian term meaning ‘counterpose’. Frequently encountered in classical sculpture, the weight is on one leg thus throwing the hip out and with the shoulder on an opposing slant, creating a curving axis and an asymmetrical balance to the figure.
All my plaster sculptures come framed. Although I use a tough, architectural quality ‘alpha’ plaster there is always the risk of damage without this extra protection. I want you to enjoy your artwork for years so these only come as framed wall hangings. For free standing pieces see the other version which comes in various metal finishes and display options.
These unlimited plaster casts are intended to be affordable for new collectors or those on a limited income who appreciate beautiful and original artworks. For my high end, limited editions and unique pieces in bronze, glass and marble see my portfolio pages.
