Penis Artworks

An ongoing series of artworks created from hundreds of casts of male and female genitals. In fact I may just have created the most recognisable genital castings ever in the form of my world famous, twenty-six feet long, sociopolitical sculpture, The Great Wall of Vagina. Time, I suppose, will tell but with the amount of press and public interest the sculpture gets it augurs well. My plunge into the murky waters of genital casting started many years ago when I was commissioned to make an artwork for an erstwhile sex museum in London, called Amora.

The artwork I created was The Spice of Life, indicative of the huge variety of shapes and sizes that exist in normal human genitals. When you’ve seen what everyone else has, you’re gonna feel fine about your own. That’s the ethos behind these works and, of course, The Great Wall of Vagina. That humorous title belies the serious message that it conveys. Using humour is a great tool in artworks devised to elicit social change. It gets under the radar, past people’s natural resistance to tricksy subjects. Having said that it can’t all be serious, sometimes the humour is the whole purpose of the piece. So go on, have a rummage…! 🙂
